Must Visit Outdoor Swims

There’s lots coming up to get us back in the water this summer!

It's almost June and we think we've counted over 50 different open water swimming events in the UK that are coming up! So we thought we'd share some of them with you. Even if they are fully booked it is worth going along to spectate (dependent on government and local restrictions) to see the event in full swing and familiarise yourself with how it works.
Here's a few we're keen to visit:
In the East Midlands British Triathlon are heading to Staunton Harold. There are volunteering opportunities there that you can get involved in there too before, during and after the event.
If you're in the North West or the East, there's the famous Great Swim doing their annual visit to Windermere in the Lake District and Alton Water in Suffolk. Even better the official charity partner is Water Aid, meaning you can help support their life changing work at the same time.
For us in the South West there are lots of opportunities but the Dartmouth Open Water Swim is definitely one to put in the calendar. Being in the incredibly clear Blackpool Sands water, they've even got the resident lifeguards in place for the event.
If it's the beauty of your surroundings that makes outdoor swimming so special to you, then not many events can live up to the stunning East Lothian coastline at the Scurry Yellowcraig Sea Swim / Run Festival in Scotland. There's even the option of a 2km sea swim along the scenic Fidra island. If you can't get to this one in 2021, it's certainly one to add to your list for 2022!
While considering exclusive locations, Cardiff Bay in Wales only allows swimming when authorised by the Harbour Authority, so taking the opportunity to swim in a unique location such as this is a must. Entries to the 750m and 1,500m swims in 2022 are live now for the Cardiff Bay Try a Tri Swim 2022.
Also in Wales but fully sold out is the Tal Y Llyn Swim. It is no surprise this is sold out as it's hosted at a stunning glacial ribbon lake underneath Cadair Idris, one of the most iconic mountains in the Snowdonia National Park. If you haven't got an entry for this year, you should definitely visit their website to look in awe at the photos and incredible scenery.
Then from the stunning rural swims to the heart of the city, the Canary Wharf 1 Mile Swim at Millwall Dock in London was even a filming location for James Bond in The World is Not Enough! A one mile swim, there is an option to do it three times on one day - definitely one to challenge yourself to if you feel up to it.

And finally on our list... the one we really hope you'll come to is the Henley Swim Festival. This will be where we are officially launching Restube UK. Although we have Restube available from June to order from us in Cornwall online, this will be our first outing to meet you and let you have a go with the Restube range. It's on Sunday 11 July 2021 in the picturesque Henley-on-Thames, right where Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Berkshire meet. Swimmers cross the line at the fairytale Temple Island which sits in the centre of the River Thames and is also the start line for the famous Henley Royal Regatta

The organisers of the Henley Swim Festival are making it even more inclusive by allowing you to relax the evening beforehand and make a weekend of it, they've set up a campsite so you can stay overnight from the Saturday and there's even rumours of fireworks in the town that night. See you there!
